Emerge Contemporary is a new contemporary art gallery set up by Hannah Ivory Baker that exhibits outstanding work by emerging, mid-career and established artists. It is based predominantly online but has at least 2 months worth of gallery exhibitions in Highgate, London each year.
The aim of the gallery is to be able to provide a place where artists can have exhibition time in a great part of London for 2 months of the year, whilst paying less gallery commission and ultimately occupying a space somewhere between an online gallery and a physical one. It also provides a platform for artists ‘in transition’.
Hannah has been involved in art for the past 10 years. She is a painter, (occasional) writer on art and owns Highgate Contemporary Art, an independent art gallery established in the mid 1950s.
